Angie and Andy
Waaaaaaay back in June we photographed Angie and Andy's fabulous Grand Forks wedding. Angie is one of the most genuinely happy people I know ... she's so fun and spunky and always has a smile on her face. Her wedding day was very windy and rainy, but she didn't let that spoil her big day at all. She had a beautiful cathedral length veil and we had the best time photographing it in the wind :)
By the end of the evening, the winds calmed down and all the wedding guests were out on the deck of the reception venue watching a gorgeous sunset.
Here's one of my favorite photographs of the year (wind-blown veil + wind-blown trees = pure, un-photoshopped magic!) ::

Oh, love. Oh, shoes :)
Angie and Andy didn't see each other until the ceremony, so there was a lot of peeking around corners to make sure Andy wasn't anywhere in sight :)
Angie and her dad had a very sweet moment together before they walked down the aisle.
Mmm, cookies and rings ::
A+A's cake table was stunning ::
The flower girl had a very long day :)
Lots of puddles and cotton (from the cottonwood trees) to walk through on our way to take some outdoor photos!

Noah
I met little Noah about a year ago when he was just a few days old, and a couple weeks back I had the chance to meet up with Noah and his parents Tara and Jared again for some I'm-almost-one, fun-in-the-park photos.
Noah's a happy little boy, I'm sure, but he just wasn't interested in being happy for the camera on the day of our session. Mama Tara got a couple smiles out of him, but for the most part it was all serious look, all the time. :) It's OK though, because Noah's serious look is pretty darn cute :)
Here's a smiley shot ::

This photo cracks me up. I wonder what's running through his head?

Very serious (but oh so cute) ::

Amy and Zach
This weekend I had the opportunity to shoot Amy and Zach's wedding with Steve Silverman in Minneapolis. It was so much fun to be a second-shooter again. I actually got my start in wedding photography because Steve invited me to shoot a wedding with him. And the rest is history :)
Amy and Zach are a great couple. Their outdoor ceremony got a little windy, but it was a beautiful day with zero humidity and no bugs (thanks to the wind!). Zach gave an amazing speech at the reception about how much Amy means to him and every single person was tearin' up. It was very sweet.
I loved Amy's lace dress. It reminded me of Erin's dress from Erin and Lou's wedding one year ago. There's something about pretty lace and the great outdoors that just goes hand in hand :)
Anywho ... on to the photos!

Married!
I love, love, love Amy's ring and I love the golden light in this photo ::
A quick kiss during the wagon ride ::
I tried using the camera through the camera technique again ... it's such a difficult thing to get focused. I'm not sure if I love love this image, but maybe it'll grow on me :)

More time at the lake
Over the Fourth of July weekend, we got away to the lake for a quick overnight stay. It was great to get a chance to relax just a bit :)
I love the light at the lake ... it's always so pretty. Here are some photos of the stairs that lead the way down to the dock from the cabin, and a shot of some flowers (with the hammock in the background).

After the sun set, we had some fun with sparklers ::
And flashlights :: (Can you read these?)
But our trip to the lake wasn't all pleasure ... we met up with Amanda's family for some family portraits. Here's a quick sneak peek. I'll have more images from their session next week!
This weekend we're off to Fargo today for Katie and Cody's wedding, then I am heading down to Minneapolis on Saturday to work with my friend and fellow photographer Steve Silverman. Have a great weekend!

We're on a billboard!
Well, we're not actually on the billboard, but one of our photos is! We've been very busy lately because we are working with the UND Athletic Department and the Ralph Engelstad Arena to produce images for their 2008-2009 athletic marketing campaign. Today I was driving down South Washington Street and saw this billboard ::
It's not the greatest photo of the billboard ... I was trying to shoot it out of my car window :)
Here's a better version of what's on the sign ::

It will be exciting to see how they use the rest of the photos!
