Back in the day
I am taking a black and white film photography class at UND this semester just for fun. I used to love shooting film, and some of my favorite photos were shot with t-max 400 for the Dakota Student. I remember rushing back to the darkroom after an assignment to develop the film. There was always something exciting about not really knowing what you got ... it's so different now with instantaneous results from a digital camera. It'll be good to learn how to be patient again :)
We've just started the class, so I don't have any photos to show you quite yet. But here is one of my favorite photos I took when I was a senior in high school. The sepia tint is actually from the darkroom ... I didn't know how to process it correctly and mixed it wrong, so it got this very weird texture to it that I really like. Although scanning it took away the cool texture and just made it look blurry. But, you get the idea :)

Leah and Ryan: Engagement
Saturday we had the pleasure of working with Leah and Ryan to make some lovely engagement photos! We've taken more engagement photos out of town than in Grand Forks, so we were excited to explore the area with Leah and Ryan. They told us they were up for anything :)
We drove all around town, and even out to the country, to find some fun spots for photo-takin'. Leah and Ryan and both very sweet and laid-back, which made our job easy!
Thanks for being so fun, L+R! We can't wait for the wedding :)

Candy and clean lines
Today I had two really fun assignments for the newspaper, so I thought I'd share some of the photos with you :)
First we visited with a women who makes and sells homemade candies. Oh. My. Gosh. Her caramel was super-tasty. Looking at these photos makes my mouth water!
All of her tasty flavors:

After the candy lady, we went to visit a modern home for our homes section. I LOVED this house! It was so bright and airy. She was an artist, and had a lot of her own artwork hanging on the white walls.
