Bye-bye Honda, hello Subaru
Yesterday I drove my Honda Civic over to the Subaru dealership and traded her in for a shiny new Subaru Outback Sport. It was a sad day, sorta. I loved my Honda Civic, but she had a lot of miles on her and it was just her time to go.
The new car is all kinds of fancy :: It's got an iPod plug-in, a compass, outdoor temperature, heated seats (great for the summer) and all-wheel drive. And it has loads of cargo room to lug all of my photo equipment around town.
Here she is (no name yet ... anyone have any ideas?)

Non-wedding weekend
This weekend we had a break from wedding season ... but I still couldn't put the camera away :)
Here are some photos from my non-wedding weekend ::
We traveled out to Scenic State Park in Minnesota to go hiking and kayaking.

Last day!
This was waiting for me at my desk this morning :) The banner was created by my best work pal, Jodi. Isn't it pretty? And I got a cookie with my logo on it and some flowers the same color as my logo :) I'm very impressed!
It is my last day at the newspaper and I'm both excited for what's to come and sad about what I'm leaving behind. My work for the paper has always been challenging (in a good way) and fun, and it's provided me with the opportunity to meet some really great people.
So, thanks for the good times, Grand Forks Herald. It's been real :)

This old house
On our drive back from Bismarck last weekend, Kory and I decided to take the long way home and discovered a cool old abandoned house and barn off Highway 200. We stopped to take some photos and I got the chance to play with this old Kodak Duaflex camera someone gave me.
Now I'm not actually taking photos with the camera, but instead using the lens and shooting with my digital camera through the viewfinder. I love the look and texture it gives the photos. Let me know what you think :)

Happy Mother's Day!
Hooray for moms, and hooray for spring! In Grand Forks we are finally getting buds on trees and bushes ... a sure sign that spring is here. Here are some photos I took today during our Mother's Day get together.
