Flood 2009

I'm sure that if you are from North Dakota, or even if you've watched the news in the last week, you know about the flooding that is happening all around our state. Our eyes are glued to the news to hear the latest reports on what's going on where, especially for our friends and clients in Fargo. If you'd like to check out some amazing photographs from the flooding in Fargo, go to ::

Luckily in Grand Forks, the Red River is predicted to crest between 50-53 feet, which is under the 60 foot levees we have. Today Kory and I took a walk down to the Sorlie Bridge in Grand Forks that has been closed because of flooding. It's about two blocks from our office.

Metal plates were placed in between columns on DeMers Ave.

I've never been able to stand in the middle of the Sorlie Bridge before.
This marker shows where the river was during different floods over the last 100 years. The top was in 1997, when the whole town of Grand Forks was flooded.
And here we are, freezing in the wind and snow (but looking rather happy?) ::

Yay for UND hockey!

Last weekend the UND hockey team received the MacNaughton Cup for winning the WCHA (their conference). Kory and I were slipping and sliding around the ice to get some photos of the team with the cup. At least I was slipping and sliding ... Kory's got some fancy shoe things that keep him from falling on the ice in front of thousands of people.

Here's Ryan Duncan holding the cup ::

The office

Finally, we give you a few actual photos of our new office. I've been a little under the weather all week so I couldn't give these photos my all :) Please excuse the not-so-greatness of them :)

The party, part two

Yay for photo booth photos! The best part of any party, whether its a wedding, open house, or just a house party is simply enjoying the company of your friends. Now, I may be biased, but I think the best way to document that fun is with a photo booth!

Here are some photos from the photo booth fun at the party. Coming up tomorrow we'll have the official office photos so you can see how talented we are at hanging photos in a straight line :)

First up :: Kory and Amanda, testing the lights. See the tape in Kory's hand? He carries that with him at all times.

The party, part one

Our new office is officially open and ready for business ... and we celebrated that fact by having a big party last weekend. Our Grand Opening Party on Saturday was amazing! The food was delicious, the music was good, and the company was fantastic! We had friends come from Fargo, family from Minneapolis, and clients all the way from Florida (hi Mandi!). It was great to see everyone and get a chance to visit with some folks we hadn't seen in a while.

I've got lots of photos to show you from the opening party, so I'm dividing them into two blog posts. First, the food ::

Kathy Benda cooked up some really tasty appetizers for us. Doesn't it look good?

Also, here are some photos from the office as we were getting ready on Friday. We'll post the real photos of the whole office on Thursday :)

Tomorrow we'll post all the photos from the photo booth, so check back!
