Adrienne + Dustin
Adrienne contacted me last spring about possibly setting up an after-wedding photo session. At that time, her and her fiance, Dustin, were planning a small wedding ceremony at the Grand Forks Courthouse, and she just wanted some nice portraits of the two of them around the time of their wedding.
My ears really perked up at the words "courthouse wedding." We mostly photograph big weddings, so the idea of a small, simple ceremony was really interesting to me.
I asked her if she would be OK with us photographing their wedding ceremony, too, instead of just portraits. I think her exact words were, "Well, sure!"
...
The day of their wedding (a Wednesday afternoon) was a beautiful, cool, sunny day. Because of a few scheduling difficulties at the Grand Forks Courthouse, Adrienne and Dustin were married at the Hillsboro Courthouse (which is stunning, by the way!).
Here are a few of my favorite photos from our afternoon with the new Mr. and Mrs. :)

Adrienne is so stunning! I loved the flower in her hair!
Adrienne made her bouquet and Dustin's boutonniere herself ::
Adrienne and Dustin love photography, so they brought their cameras for a few shots :)

Kaylee: Senior
It was a weird summer, weather-wise. It was cooler than usual, rainier than usual, and cloudier than usual. For a while we felt that every time we had something scheduled (family session, senior session, or golf game), it got rained out. Ugh.
But about two weeks ago, things warmed up, dried off, and the sun came out! We've been shooting just about every day and night to make up for the rained-out sessions and I'm trying to get lots of them up on the blog in the next week :)
First, here's one of our fabulous 2010 seniors, Kaylee. Kaylee was a breeze to photograph ... she's got a gorgeous natural smile! Because she's into theater, we started the session at the Empire Arts Center in Grand Forks, and ended the session at Kaylee's family farm.
Isn't she a doll?

Baby Alexis: Newborn
Wow, it's 09-09-09! I remember 10 years ago, I was in high school, and we made 9-9-99 necklaces to celebrate the momentous occasion :) Michelle, Whitney, Lisa :: do you remember those? Oh the silly things we used to do ...
Today, as a 9-9-09 celebration, we're showing off the beautiful baby of our friends Erik and Tina. We photographed their stunning wedding in Roseau, Minn. last year. After living in Alaska for some time, they recently moved back to Grand Forks, bought a house, and had Alexis Rochelle :)
Little miss Alexis is so adorable and we couldn't be happier for Tina and Erik!

Erik played hockey in college, so we had some fun using his old jersey in the photos.
Sticking her tongue out at dad :)
I finally had the chance to use this adorable wrap my friend Janna made for me!

Fall weather, already?
We took a quick trip to the lake over labor day and a fair amount of leaves were already changing ... after all this cool weather during the summer, are we in for an early fall?

The Rolandson family
We met the Rolandson family at their family's cabin near Bemidji, MN, for some fun family photos. It was a perfect day at the lake :: cool, no wind, beautiful light. We were in heaven! Plus this family is so nice! We had a great time photographing them AND even got to eat cake (the parents were celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary). I mean, feed us cake and we will be your best friends forever :)
